The Molyullah Tatong Tree & Land Protection Group was initiated in 1988 as a project of the Victorian Farmers Federation members in the Molyullah and Tatong areas, to improve the natural environment and management of local properties and areas, and therefore assist local farm managers to increase their own profitability and sustainabilility.

It was one of the earliest Landcare groups formed in the region as a result of a collaboration between the then Minister for Conservation, Mrs Joan Kirner, and Victorian Farmers Federation President, Mrs Heather Mitchell.

The two organisations were looking for a way to marry Conservation and Farming harmoniously.

Landcare has since become a National Program held in high regard by both Government and Primary Industries and has been responsible for a major shift in environmental treatments and activities.

The Moly-Tat Group are part of the over-arcing funding and organising Gecko Clan, and are currently running a Blackberry extermination program for members, as well as a nesting box conservation project for the threatened Squirrel Glider population in the area.

Details can be obtained from committee members or by contacting the Secretary.
